Travel Health Advice

At the Roleystone Family Medical Centre we offer a full range of travel vaccinations at competitive prices.

If possible, it is important to come and see us 4-6 weeks prior to departure as the immunizations take a couple of weeks to be effective and some require multiple doses.

Whilst individual requirements may vary the standard adult schedules for typical immunizations are as follows (accelerated, slightly less effective, courses in brackets)

  • Hepatitis A: 0, 6-12 months
  • Hepatitis B: 0, 1, 6 month (0,7,21 days, 12 months)
  • Hepatitis A&B combination: 0,1,6 months (0,7,21 days, 12 months)
  • Hepatitis A & Typhoid Combination: 0, Hepatitis A booster 6-36 months
  • Typhoid: Single dose, booster every 3 years Polio: Single booster dose 10 yearly
  • Tetanus & Diphtheria: Single booster 10 yearly
  • Rabies:0,7 & 28(21) days, 2 yearly booster or blood test
  • Japanese Encephalitis: 0,7 & 28 days (0,7,14 days 1-3 months)
  • Yellow Fever: Single dose 10 yearly
  • Meningitis ACWY (Hajj meningitis vaccine):Single dose 3-5 yearly

Please bring any records you have of previous immunizations with you to your appointment.

Test Results

When making an appointment for test results, please check with the receptionist that the results have arrived at the medical centre. Test results are usually delivered to the centre 3 working days after tests have been performed.

 

Repeat prescriptions

Please note, a doctors appointment is required for repeat prescriptions.
